Book and Paper Conservator-Restorers without Borders

The idea of the Book and Paper Conservator-Restorers without Borders initiative is to collect, sort and store data input by conservator-restorers, librarians, archivists and other relevant professionals, as well as provide information on their availability and specific areas of expertise.

The participants can be contacted in case of emergency for immediate help on request by any institution in Europe. Floods, fires and earthquakes showed how much books and other library and archive material can benefit from quick help.

The first but crucial stage of participation of institutions housing cultural heritage in the project is by giving their contact data and emergency plans.

The Centre will also offer education courses on risk management and first aid for library and archive material.
